Feast of the Assumption of Mary - Feast of the Institute
The solemnity of August 15th is very important for us,
Franciscan Missionaries of Mary.
According to the desire of Mary of the Passion, our Foundress,
the Virgin Mary is the Mother and the true Superior General of the Institute.
"Mary is for me like a way within the Way."
Mary of the Passion
The solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is rooted in a deep and unbroken tradition of the Church's love for Mary and the understanding of her role in the history of Salvation.
To celebrate the Assumption is to celebrate the feast of all of us, because Mary - who shares our humanity in all its joys and sufferings– precedes us totally, in body and soul, into the glory of God. She became for us the living promise of the resurrection of our future life with God. She symbolizes the faith of the Church in the work of redemption.
Her presence with the Trinity is our guarantee to have someone in heaven to intercede for us. Woman of Solidarity, Mother full of love, Mary cannot forget the reality of all men, women and children who need her help, her support and her maternal presence.
Mary, your Assumption is your Easter! Help us to embrace - with joy, love and hope - our Easter, this vocation to encounter God, to which we are all invited.
Mary, our Mother, Mother of the Church and Mother
of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary,
we entrust to you our world and our brothers and sisters.
To you, we entrust the Institute and our Superior General, Sr. Françoise.
