My
religious vocation developed while I was preparing to become a
Catholic. After I finished my studies in the University, I needed to
have some work experience before I joined the FMM as this was a
condition for entry. So, I worked at a legal office for 2 years and
entered the Institute in 1987 . As a novice, I was sent to help in
the clinic in Flores and later, as a young religious I was sent to
take care of 70 young girls in a boarding school also at Flores.
After 9
months, I was sent to Sri Lanka to study theology and experience
community life there for 2 years.
In 1994
I made my Final Vows and in 1995 I went to South Africa as a
missionary. I joined the «black sash » to help the black South
African to get their just wages, their ID book, etc. I also
ran the shelter for 100 homeless people. This shelter was run by
the Sisters of Mercy. I did this for 3 years after which I worked with
the JRS to help refugees. I also worked with the Scalabrine sisters.
In 2001
I returned to Indonesia where I used to visit the homeless who slept under
the bridge. Nine month laters, I was sent to help 240 children in an orphanage. I was
the bursar and took care of boys from
the ages of 11 to 14. There were 70 of them. I then moved to the provincialate house and worked at the Vatican Embassy and for
Bishop’s Conference office for victims of natural disasters.
All I
did and all I will do is for the Lord only.
Through this journey I can see how God was leading me
Use me
Lord as an instrument of your love
