Sr. Sue, Superior
General, announces that
the list of provinces
and general councilors
in charge of them is
ready and the
provincials will be
contacted by their
respective councilors
before the end of the
Chapter.
Sr. Sue also reminds us
that it is the
anniversary of the death
of Sr. Teresalina
(Joaquina Zubiri),
Spanish sister
assassinated in
Baramulla, India October
27, 1947.
Teresalina threw herself
in front of her superior
to protect her from the
mercenaries, and thus
saved her life.
The morning hours were
dedicated to work and
voting on the
Constitutions. Before
noon, the voting
completed, the sisters
started the sharing on
the meaning of words
such as “mutual
accompaniment”.
In the afternoon, Sr.
Lynnette gives some
information about the
world financial crisis.
This evening, the
Eucharist will be
celebrated by Monsignor
Franc Rodé, Prefect of
the Congregation for
the Institutes of
Consecrated Life and the
Societies of Apostolic
Life.
During the offertory
procession; as well as
the bread and wine, a
calabash, symbol of our
service to others; a
cloth of many woven
colors, symbol of our
internationality and
interculturality, a
broom, because with only
one straw the house
cannot be swept, symbol
of our desire for unity.
All these African
symbols are accompanied
by a chant in Lobi.
Usually our liturgies
are in three languages,
and this evening we will
have Lobi, Hindi and
Slovena added. Monsignor is from
Slovenia!
After supper we will do
our virtual trip to
Reunion/Mauritius and
Malaysia/Singapore. |
