Today, Sunday, was the inauguration of the
Synod of Bishops consecrated to the “Word of
God” in life and in mission. We all feel
concerned by this call from the synod, to
read, study, share the Word of God contained
in the Bible; this reading of the Bible from
the Book of Genesis to the book of the
Apocalypse will be done, day and night, till
Saturday, 11th October.
St. Paul, addressing the Philippians, 4:6-9
tells us: “Brothers (sisters), there is
no need to worry; but if there is anything
you need, pray for it, asking God for it
with prayer and thanksgiving.” This is
what the Chapter members did this morning.
At 5.30 p.m., we had the joy of receiving
the first names of the sisters elected as
general councillors:
Sister
Ramoni
Iribar Cortajarena, Spanish,
provincial of the province of Spain
Sister Célestine Lambo Kembele, Congolese,

Sister Ana María Campos, Chilean,
ex-provincial of the province of Bolivia,
Chile
Sister Mary Elizabeth Donlon, Irish,
