The National feast day of Chile is celebrated in the Spanish language chapel. During Lauds we give thanks for all the FMM of that province and for those who give of themselves to the mission in Chile and Bolivia, while in the French language chapel we thank God for the life of Sr. Germaine Mujinga, General Councillor on her birthday.

Applause from the Assembly

Today we continue the reflection of yesterday on the theme of the General Chapter. Sr. Anne de la Bouillerie gives us a conference on “How is the kenosis of Christ lived in the FMM charism today?”

Many things call to us during this presentation, for example:

How do we utilize the resources at our disposition to better know the Bible and strengthen the foundations of our faith?” Or: “ International/intercultural living is part of our DNA: it was wished by Mary of the Passion from the beginning. It has a precise  spiritual and missionary meaning. We cannot suppress it without changing our identity in depth. Besides, in the eyes of the people, it is doubtless one of the main characteristics of our religious family. Practically, it is a good school for listening and being open to the other, a school of true charity, humility and asceticism. It presupposes plurilinguism. Work and fatigue, it is also mutually enriching; in opening to other cultures and ways of understanding, it fosters seeing ‘the grace of the Gospel in al its richness’.”

As yesterday, the sisters are reflecting  personally and in groups on what impacted them in Sr. Anne’s presentation. A period of clarifications and questions follows later in the afternoon.
