Monday, 15 and Tuesday 16,  September, 2008

After the Paschal Triduum and an afternoon free yesterday, the work of the Chapter continues.

Lauds is celebrated in the three chapels, and we ask the Lord to continue to guide us.

Sr. Christiane begins the day thanking Fr. Gilles, Sr. Silvana, and the liturgy team for the meaningful celebration of the Triduum, which we fully enjoyed, and of whose fruits we will  certainly profit during the rest of the Chapter.

We know that all the Sisters in the Institute accompanied us these past days. The sisters of Congo- Kinshasa, for example, sent this message:

“My dear Sisters, the province of Congo- Kinshasa joins you during this “Pascal Triduum fmm” of the Chapter, especially the night of Holy Thursday to Friday. Each community, during these three days, joined together in an hour of Adoration. We remain united to the Institute during this intense time. May the Spirit who guides the Institute, enter our hearts and minds so that others may see God in us.”

Sr. Teresita Arbide, delegate of the General houses, then explained a surprise the Capitulars found in their trays last evening. The little crocheted placemats were made by Sr. Ida Vitelli,  a 98 year old Sister in the infirmary.

Today and tomorrow the Capitulars will reflect personally, in groups, and in Assembly,  on the two articles of the Constitutions ( art n° 176 and n° 185) regarding the mandates of the Superior General and the General Councillors.
