From 7.30 a.m., the Eucharist and Lauds lead us
into an atmosphere of prayer. Mass is celebrated
by Fr. Patrick Hudson, O.F.M., an Irish
Franciscan.
“God our Creator, this morning we are about to
begin our work … grace us with Wisdom and
Vision. Inflame us with your Love and Kindness,
and gift us with humour and humility that we may
not lose sight of our purpose in life …”
This is an extract from today’s prayer that
began the assembly. Sister Christiane wishes
each one a good day and passes on to Sr. Helen
Mendonça (moderator) who presents the work of
the day.
Then, Father Gilles explains the procedure very
clearly and in detail to the chapter members.
The objective of this day is to study the
procedure so that we may adopt it (or amend it)
and then choose those who will help us with the
smooth running of the chapter.
At 10.30 a.m., the chapter members meet in their
different linguistic groups to study the booklet
“Procedure for the General Chapter”.
At 3 p.m.
after the consultation of the groups Sister
Christiane announces the names of the two
tellers. After this, each group presented their
questions or requests for clarifications on the
procedure for the General Chapter.
The day ends with a unanimous vote on the procedure
and we take all this to Adoration and Vespers. |
